Brooke Alexander Inc. and Owen James Gallery have formed an unusual alliance. Beginning in January 2018, Owen James Gallery will leave its current Brooklyn location and operate within the Brooke Alexander Gallery. The two galleries will share office space, and present simultaneous exhibitions, on the second floor at 59 Wooster Street in Soho.

THE DAILY PIC (#1541): I caught this work by veteran painter Walter Robinson on Sunday at Owen James Gallery in Greenpoint, in New York.
Currently on exhibition at the Owen James Gallery is a unique “collaboration” between Charles Bukowski and the painter Walter Robinson. Working with Bukowski’s poem “The Bluebird,” Robinson has crafted a series of paintings that reflects a debauchery more and more prolific in our social network feeds.

We are thrilled to have our Elin Rodseth exhibition included in this round-up of the best exhibitions in Brooklyn:
"These are important combinations and complex relationships that dwell within our contemporary society, and they are often ones that are tentatively side-stepped, or deliberately overlooked. It is important for the artist to highlight these most important references to the world we both live in, and perhaps more importantly, the world we pretend to live in."
In advance of his upcoming solo exhibition at Owen James Gallery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Sara Zielinski visited Filipino artist Dex Fernandez in his temporary New York studio. Originally from Manila, Fernandez has been in the United States since May on back-to-back residencies with the Asian Cultural Council, first at Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA and now in New York City. Interview by Sara Zeilinski.
Dex Fernandez is a multi-media graffiti artist from Manila, Philippines. Through wall murals, illustrated and embroidered photography, and animation videos his work fully displays the vibrancy of current S.E. Asian contemporary art. With this exhibition, Owen James Gallery is participating in the 10th edition of Asia Contemporary Art Week (ACAW) ) – A dynamic platform that connects over 40 New York and Asia based art institutions to present cutting-edge exhibitions, innovative projects, provocative dialogues and festivities citywide. You can learn more about ACAW here: http://www.acaw.info/?page_id=16558.
